Hungry yet? There’s a new convention coming to town, and this one has everyone talking! Kicking off it’s inaugural year this September, the Vancouver Bacon Convention will be featuring two days full of delicious, crispy bacon. Vegetarians should probably steer clear of this event.
On September 24 and 25, the PNE Forum will turn into a “pancetta paradise” with over 100 booths featuring bacon inspired food, drink and products. Not enough bacon for you? There will also be bacon eating contests, events, door prizes, activities, raffles, and more!
This is a must-attend event for true bacon-lovers and it will have more bacon than you can shake a bacon at!
This event is brought to us by the Vancouver Bacon Appreciation Society (what a surprise!), a not-for-profit corporation created to celebrate and promote local economy, products, culture, businesses, culinary innovation, and of course bacon.
The event isn’t just about eating all the bacon. Vendors will also be competing to offer guests the most mouthwatering bacon dishes to win the “best darn bacon dish in the building”. There is also a plan to have a contest involving bacon art and sculptures in the works.
While menu items are still being decided, you can expect such exotic offerings as bacon caramel chocolates, bacon donuts, pork belly sliders, bacon-infused cocktails, and perhaps even some bacon beer.
Tickets are available online to the 19+ event and cost $ 25.15. This will get you access to a full day of the event plus a souvenir sample mug and two tokens good towards sampling some of the bacon creations. Additional tokens will be available for purchase once inside.
