The 2017 Beach Volleyball season is well under way with only a few weeks left until the summer’s most popular event, The Vancouver Open Pro Beach Volleyball Tournament. The Vancouver Open, run by Volleyball BC, will be celebrating its 26th Anniversary on the weekend of July 14-16 at Kitsilano Beach, and with $ 15,000 in prize money up for grabs the competition is going to be intense.

The three day event is free to attend for everyone and offers activities for all ages including a youth volleyball tournament, prize giveaways, interactive crowd activities, food and beverages, and some of the best beach volleyball action in North America. The Vancouver Open is expected to attract upwards of 20,000 people over the course of the weekend and some fans may even be lucky enough to see some Canadian Olympians on the sand.

London 2012 Olympians Martin Reader and Josh Binstock are teaming up for the Vancouver Open and will definitely be one of the teams to watch for. Binstock even has some history in the tournament having won back to back titles in 2013 and 2014 alongside another Canadian Olympian Sam Schacter. Binstock and Schacter competed as partners in the Rio 2016 Olympics last summer.

The Vancouver Open will be the final stop of Volleyball BC’s 2017 Pro Beach Tour, so don’t miss your opportunity to see some of the best in the business take to the sand at Kitsilano Beach, July 14-16.
